The story behind the sketchbook
I'm Joram, an entrepreneur, designer and illustrator in Delft. This is how it all came about, with a few detours and a great many sketches.

That's how I drew myself.
From pencil to Plastilose
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I have been drawing digitally since 2012. My first drawing commissions came through my YouTube channel SmileminerArt, from clients all over the world. That's how a hobby became a side job.
Then I went to TU Delft to study Industrial Design Engineering. There I found out that drawing is also a way of thinking. I designed all sorts of things, from a bike idea for VanMoof to a lamp for people working from home. Many projects came with a film too.
I started Tridim in February 2020, just before COVID, as a studio for creative technology and online marketing. A few weeks later the country went into lockdown. That was exactly when entrepreneurs wanted to be found online. And so Tridim grew, with websites, campaigns and films.
From February 2021 to January 2023 I was project manager at Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft. I led the team of programme directors who developed the new master's curriculum. As a tutor I had already made hard things easier for one pupil at a time. Now I did it for a whole faculty.
During my bachelor's, Jason Smit and I were already growing colour from bacteria. Since August 2024 I have been co-founder and CEO of Plastilose. Together we make healthcare disposables from bacterial cellulose. And I still draw, simply because it's fun.

Grab a cup of tea for this one.
